The Pale Blue Dot (and its little companion)
Guess what are those two dots in the above picture. The left one is our Earth, and the dimmer one on the right is our moon! These are all the worlds humans have ever been.
This image is taken from the recently launched Jupiter-bound spacecraft Juno. Juno was launched on Aug 5. And it took this image on Aug 26. By that time Juno travelled 9.66 million kilometers in space.
It will take Juno 5 years to reach Jupiter, the largest planet of the solar system. The spacecraft will probe beneath its giant clouds to get more information about its origin, structure, atmosphere and magnetosphere and also look for the solid core that have long been hypotesized.
