Getting Your Own Domain Name


Recently I bought a new domain in my name. Thank god it was available! It seems there is not any cool domain name left!
I hosted this blog at blog.samiksaha.com which you may be seeing now.
Domain names are not very costly. You can get one for Rs. 500/- or $7 per year or even at lower rates. I bought it from rediff. But some better domain registrars are GoDaddy.com, Yahoo Small Business , EasyDNS, 1and1 etc.

When choosing domain name keep in mind the following rules
  • It shoud be short
  • It can be remembered easily
  • It cannot be easily misspelt

Comet Lulin Comes Closer

Comet Lulin will be on its closest approach (.41 AU) to earth on 24th February. It will not be much bright though (Max. magnitude 4.0 - 5.0). Still on a dark sky you may be able to spot it as a white splotch against the black sky. Look for it in the constellation Leo [ skymap ]. It will lie only a few degrees from saturn. The comet actually looks green through powerful telescopes. This is because, its gassy atmosphere, of the size of Jupiter, contains cyanogen(CN) and diatomic carbon(C 2 ), both glow green in sunlight.
